If you read from the minor Prophet Amos you discover that Israel was in trouble. They were lost deep in sin following the ways of the nations around them, they were in a habit of looking everywhere else for help. God responded by saying “Seek me and live; do not seek Bethel, and do not enter into Gigal or cross over to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into exile, and Bethel shall come to nothing.” (Amos 5:5) You won’t find your answer there, they can’t help you, the earthly things will fade away, but God will always be there! Seek Him!
“If then, you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things that are on earth.” (Colossians 3:1&2). “He is a rewarder of those who seek him” (Hebrews 11:6)
