You Are What You Eat

We all know that how we eat directly affects our physical health. How we feel, our energy level, our heart health, our motivation are all tied in some degree to the way we eat and care for our body.  If we are living off fast food than our body does not have the nutrition it needs.  We may have temporary satisfaction but no long term benefit, rather we actually harm our health.

Consider that the same is true of our spiritual health.  “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.  For the one who sows to His own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7&8.   download

If we are feasting on the flesh and/or neglecting our spiritual health than we are going to reap/ display the flesh in our lives.  This is shown in a ungodly attitude or perspective, a lack of joy and thankfulness, stress, depression, anger, frustration, and bearing the consequences of our sin.  However, if we are sowing to the Spirit by investing in quality time with the Lord through the Word of God, Prayer, and Christian Service, than we will reap the fruits of the Spirit “Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Gentleness, Meekness, and Self-Control.

In the craziness of life don’t settle for spiritual fast food.  “Be Still and Know That I Am God”.  Seek the Bread of Life…Seek the living water!  You will find joy, satisfaction, and peace in the midst of all that seems overwhelming!
