Ever wish you could just look at a Rubik’s cube for a moment and know exactly what you needed to do and how to solve it? In life, we are faced with puzzles every day and it would be awesome if we knew exactly what to say and do in those moments. It’s called WISDOM: “The application of knowledge, experience, and good judgment” Don’t we all want that?
However, in Proverbs 1:20-22 we learn that most people do not look for wisdom. In fact, even though wisdom is readily available and calling out to us…most people would rather be simple, foolish, and try to figure it out themselves. Well, you can look around at our world and see how that one is working out!
Where do we find this wisdom? Wisdom isn’t just going to fall into your lap, although that is what the fool thinks. Proverbs 2:1-6 tells us that wisdom is found in God. We can see this wisdom displayed in Jesus Christ (God’s Son). He handled every difficult situation perfectly because he only did & said what the father showed Him to.
How do we get wisdom? The Proverbs repeatedly tell us that wisdom must be sought after. It takes effort, learning, praying, studying the word of God and Jesus example. James 1:5 says “If any of you lacks wisdom, let Him ask God who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him”
However, James continues with a warning. We must ask in faith without doubting or we may not receive anything from the Lord. The point is; if we truly want wisdom we can’t be asking God in one breathe and continuing to try to solve it ourselves in the next.
May it be our habit and our passion to seek God for wisdom every day and to study Christ’s example so that we might do and say what the Father would desire in all situations. This will advance the gospel! This will bring blessing and honor to our lives!(Proverbs 4:5-9)
